A New Year with New Opportunities

2022 is here and with it comes New members, new ideas, new challenges and new objectives for TSFA!

TSFA embraces new ideas and changes with open arms as we constantly look for better, more efficient ways to achieve our goals. As is our practice, 2022 will see TSFA continue to build on the last four years by analysing, adapting and improving on the optimum football developmental environment on a daily basis. After years of determination, adaptation and conscious effort, TSFA of 2022 has no place for mediocrity or inefficiency. We similarly encourage our players to make the necessary daily effort to achieve the excellence, professionalism and continuous growth required to reach their goals. Jillian Michaels emphasized the importance of effort and determination best when he said:

“It’s not about perfect. It’s about effort. And when you implement that effort every single day, that’s where transformation happens. That’s how change occurs. Keep going. Remember why you started.” - Jillian Michaels

TSFA's youth football development philosophy and programme are aligned with Johan Cruyff's ideology which states:

"Playing football is very simple, but playing football simply is the most difficult thing there is!" - Johan Cruyff

TSFA aims to teach young football players to play the game simply in order to achieve the ultimate satisfaction possible and - most crucially - the values of hard work, dedication, passion, persistence and commitment. These valuable lessons and traits not only help players achieve their dreams, but are sure to make them better footballers and human beings in general. Ken Poirot said it best when he said:

Success awaits those who steadfastly commit to any requisite sacrifice.- Ken Poirot

While TSFA is all for commitment to a dream and making the necessary sacrifices, we remain aware of the potential negative long-term implications that arise when an aspiring professional football player's dream is not realised. Logically, not every aspiring footballer can become a professional player - there will simply never be enough positions in enough clubs across the world. We, therefore, believe that reducing the risk of sacrificing all else at the expense of a dream, while still achieving the desired results is key.

TSFA strives to help every individual player reach their pinnacle, but we will also endeavour to ensure a healthy and productive harmony between academic study, football training, social interaction, as well as physical and mental recovery. A healthy, happy and socially balanced player is much more likely to achieve their goals in football and in life!

The most we can hope for is to create the best possible conditions for success, then let go of the outcome. The ride is a lot more fun that way. - Phil Jackson
